Spicy Roasted Mixed Nuts

Beware of overindulging on these flavorful snacks.

While following the Whole 30 plan, my snack of choice was mixed nuts.  Because I was eating them daily, they became a bit boring and I really wanted a snack with some spicy flavors.  So I began experimenting with the spices I had in my kitchen, and it only took a few tries before getting the combination just the way I liked it.  I hope you’ll like them!

Recipe Notes

  1. If you are following the Whole 30 plan, it’s important to note that you’ll need a peanut-free package of mixed nuts.  You may also want to check for peanut oil in the ingredients.
  2. You’ll want to watch these pretty closely when you get to the end of your baking time.  The roasted nuts should be golden brown, and they can burn easily if overcooked.
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 8 to 10 minutes
  • Ready In: 15 minutes
  • Servings: 16

Mixed Nuts Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsalted mixed nuts
  • 1 T avocado oil
  • 1 t chili powder
  • 3/4 t cumin
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/2 t pepper
  • 1/2 t cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 t cinnamon

Mixed Nuts Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix to evenly coat nuts with oil and seasonings.

Spread seasoned nuts on parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until nuts start to look golden brown.

Let cool before eating.
